Job Description
About the Role
Meesho is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead backend engineering teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability across projects. This role involves shaping engineering strategy, mentoring engineers, and driving collaboration across sales, design, and engineering teams to build products that serve millions of users at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and assign tasks for engineers as per Meesho's guidelines
- Perform regular performance evaluations and provide/seek feedback
- Monitor progress across multiple engineering projects
- Collaborate closely with sales and design teams to innovate on new products
- Manage engineers and take ownership of projects while ensuring product scalability
- Conduct regular meetings to plan and report on project progress
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
- At least 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 2 years of experience managing software development teams
- Experience driving sprints and OKRs
- Deep understanding of transactional and NoSQL databases
- Deep understanding of messaging systems like Kafka
- Good experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
- Expertise in Java/Python and multithreading
- Experience building large-scale distributed and scalable systems
Preferred Skills & Nice to Have
- Experience with data pipelines
- Experience with Elasticsearch (ES)
