How Is Your Real Rashi Calculated? Why Daily Horoscopes Can Mislead You
"Don't run everything on rashi. Don't run everything on astrology."
On the Accompany Akki podcast, astrologer Geetu Parmar spoke with host Akash Kumar about daily horoscopes, how rashi is actually determined, and why she refuses to make yearly predictions.
Why daily rashi horoscopes don't apply to everyone
• Not everyone with the same rashi is the same.
• Each person has different traits.
• What happens depends on your individual kundli and the planetary period you're going through.
• Reading a daily prediction for your sign and taking it personally can be misleading.
How do people usually find their rashi?
According to Geetu, many people work it out:
• From their name, or
• From their date of birth
She says many don't actually know how rashi is calculated.
How is your actual rashi determined?
In Geetu's explanation, your actual rashi is the sign where the Moon sits in your lagna chart. It is based on your birth chart, not simply your name or birth date.
Why she won't predict 2027
When asked how 2027 would go for people, Geetu declined to answer:
• Viewers would link everything in their lives to that prediction.
• People might manifest outcomes because of her words.
• She also turns down channel offers to give regular predictions.
Don't become dependent on astrology
Geetu advises people not to rely on astrology so much that they can't function without it. She says she gives this advice precisely because she values the profession.
Why genuine astrologers have suffered
• "If an astrologer had that much power, they wouldn't let sorrow enter their own home."
• She believes genuine astrologers, as opposed to influencers, usually go through great hardship before entering the profession.
• Like someone who has known hunger understanding a hungry person, that suffering helps them feel others' pain.
Key takeaways
• Daily horoscopes for a sign can't describe everyone.
• Your actual rashi, in Geetu's explanation, depends on the Moon's position in your lagna chart.
• Be cautious of broad yearly predictions.
• Don't depend on astrology for every decision.
• Real experience builds empathy.
