Associate - Investment Banking
Job Description
About the Company & Team
Raising Big is a fundraising advisory firm based in New Delhi (raisingbig.capital). We run mandates for founders raising growth capital and for funds raising from their LPs. We write the teaser, the deck, the memorandum and the projections. We build the investor list, run the outreach, and sit with the client through diligence to close. Eleven mandates on the book today, across fintech, energy, consumer brands and deep tech.
The team is small, so there is no shadowing period. You will sit on client calls in your first fortnight, and by your second mandate you are the person the founder calls when something moves.
Role Overview
Raising Big is looking for an Associate — Investment Banking. This is a remote position (anywhere in India), available as full-time or a three-to-six month paid internship that converts to a full-time offer for those who earn it. Compensation is ₹35,000–50,000 per month, by experience. Start is immediate.
Key Responsibilities (THE WORK)
-
Client calls. Understand a business, or a fund’s strategy, well enough to explain it to an investor in four sentences.
-
Diligence. Issue the requisition list, then chase the client until the data room is actually full. In the first month of any mandate this is most of the job.
-
Drafting. Blind teasers, one-pagers, sections of decks and memoranda. You will be edited hard and often.
-
Investor lists. Sector, stage, cheque size, and what a fund or an LP has actually written in the last twelve months rather than what its website claims.
-
Outreach and tracking. Every email, every reply, every next step, logged on the day it happens.
- Meetings. Sit in, take the notes, send the follow-up before the day ends.
Who This Suits
- You can hold a call. Founders are stressed and investors are busy; both notice how you handle it.
- You follow up without becoming irritating. Most deals stall because somebody stopped chasing.
- You can read a P&L and a cap table, and say out loud when a number does not reconcile with the last version you were sent.
- You write clean prose. Everything this firm sends out is written, and none of it may read as though a machine wrote it.
- You are organised in a way other people can see — a list, kept current, that someone else could pick up.
Being Straight About It
You will spend more time chasing documents than building models. Founders go quiet for a week; investors go quiet for three. The associate who does well here is the one who keeps a list and works it, not the one with the most elegant valuation method.
Not Required
Prior investment banking experience. A CA, CFA or MBA. A finance degree of any kind. We will teach the mechanics. We cannot teach you to write, or to pick up the phone.
How to Apply
Apply — team@raisingbig.capital
No CV. Send work. Two things, in one email.
One. What you have actually done in this field. An internship, a friend’s fundraise you helped with, a deal memo you wrote for no one, a company you researched because you were curious — informal counts, and often counts for more. Say what you did yourself, and why it is relevant to this job. Attach whatever came out of it.
Two. Pick any company, listed or private, and make the case for backing it. One page, not two. We read that before anything else.
