Investment Analyst
Gemba Capital is looking to hire an Investment Analyst. He/She will work closely with the
investment team on evaluating early stage opportunities. Our ideal Analyst is someone who
loves working on numbers/MIS and able to present it well in the form of a memo/note. Does not
shy away from a lot of research work, helping build thesis, making presentations and very
comfortable with excel. Key aspects of the role include assisting the team with deal evaluation,
research and portfolio management.
Self starter, loves to take up challenging responsibilities, keen to make a career in the VC
space, loves being part of the startup ecosystem, ability to convert calls and discussions into
well- written notes. Would prefer candidates with 1-2 years of experience at a boutique
investment bank or a micro VC fund. The position is full-time and based out of Bangalore. Write

Responsibilities
● Assist the deal lead in entire deal execution from sourcing, evaluation, transaction
diligence to deal closure.
● Responsible for preparation of collateral - sectoral thesis, investment memos and LP
reports and newsletters
● Conduct primary and secondary research for potential investment opportunities –
customer interviews, competitor landscape mapping, market sizing, etc.
● Responsible for updating the portfolio MIS and generating insights.
● Support on internal processes of the fund - creating content on social media etc
● Sourcing of deals
Skills Needed
● Strong analytical skills with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Ability to analyse
financial data and generate insights.
● Strong presentation, pitch deck skills
● Communication skills: Both oral and written and comfortable doing cold outreach.
● Prioritization: Simultaneously balance multiple tasks, often with shifting priorities
● Ability to work independently, honoring deadlines for tasks assigned.
● Ability to also build network of relationships in the startup ecosystem
Qualifications
● 0-1 years of work experience in Investment Banking/Consulting/ Investing role
● Active side gigs, internships, projects - added advantage
